Program Focus and Funding Criteria

Based on the mission & values of Khan Bank, Khan Bank Foundation supports & implements programs & projects aimed to have real impacts on people’s lives in the following areas;

Education
Programs and projects that aim to enhance educational opportunities for children and youth, the future of Mongolia

Supporting disadvantaged groups of society
Programs and projects designed to to improve the lives of disadvantaged groups of society and to facilitate their social integration.

Arts and culture
Programs and projects that promote creative efforts in the community and foster public involvement and appreciation of Mongolian arts and culture.

Social and community development
Programs and projects facilitate social and community development and empower social groups.

Environmental protection & preservation
Programs and projects aimed to facilitate protection of nature and environment and to introduce eco-friendly approaches & practice.


Funding criteria

Priority is given to funding programs that:

•    Target communities and groups with significant needs not otherwise adequately met.
•    Have clear, measurable results.
•    Provide long-term, sustainable results.
•    Target areas or communities that have hitherto been underserved by the Khan Bank Foundation and/or other donors.
•    Provide an opportunity for partnership and cooperation with organizations and projects that seek to address the same issues that concern the Khan Bank Foundation.
•    Provide leverage to the Khan Bank Foundation efforts from other funds or resources.

Funding decisions are made upon evaluating the following:

•    Objectives, reasons, social needs, and degree of meeting the Khan Bank Foundation criteria in the proposal.
•    Reputation and established track of record of applicant.
•    Feasibility, planning, management of the project.
•    Detailed budget and cost efficiency.
•    Other funding or resources obtained.
