A national campaign was launched on World Cancer Day, 2 February 2012, between the National Cancer Centre of Mongolia, the Khan Bank Foundation, and the Mongolian National Broadcaster. This was the second national campaign to address cancer, which will see the first of several medical teams set off on 2 April to conduct screening in Umnugobi and Dundgobi aimags. A medical team consisting of 11 doctors and specialists will be working in each aimag for a week at a time, conducting screening amongst high risk groups and training local doctors. In addition, the team will train volunteers who will be committed to increasing public awareness on cancer prevention at a local level.
